Finally!!! I've been looking for a do-it-yourself hair color that is the right color of blonde forever. I've tried I think every other brand, then I tried Clairol. I knew Clairol made good hair color products, but Nice n' Easy? Could finding the right color blonde truly be easy?

Well, yes, it is w/ Nice n' Easy Born Blonde Maxi. Most hair home hair color systems leave you with a orangish/blonde. Take a look at the original Nice n' Easy Borne Blonde. On the box her color is like an orangish Blonde. Now take a look at the hair clolor on the Nice n' Easy Borne Blonde Maxi--her hair color is more of the white blonde. They are able to get that whitish/blonde because the powder is blue. If you want whitish hair, then you want a blue powder. Ultra also is blue, but it only has 1 thing of blue powder, while Maxi has 2 things.

I've used Lightest Ash or Extra Light Ash blonde shades for years and always had good luck with them, but I was tired of waiting for my shades to go on sale, and I was hoping to find a bulk price here on Amazon that would be the equivalent of getting them on sale while saving me a trip to the store. I was intrigued by the Ultra Blue, because I have a Medium Brown color naturally that has underlying red tones, but otherwise takes easily to color. As long as I have that "ash" cooling agent, I'm in good shape. Would "blue" be even better than "ash"? I decided to try it out.

Clearly this product is for people who have a harder time getting their hair to take color than mine. This color is definitely not a "works with your own tones and highlights" sort of color. I ended up with a fairly even and very platinum shade, which is noticeably lighter than my usual color. I'm still getting used to it and deciding whether I like it this light. I'm 26, started using Rogaine about five months ago. Results didn't show until about four months. My hair loss started becoming noticeable about two years ago when I was 24. Strangely enough I think I've seen more improvement in the front (temples) than in the back. I definitely think the product works but it requires a lot of patience and dedication. Very important note: I've been using Rogaine with a DHT blocker that I take morning and night. From my little research and experience so far, Rogaine re-grows the hair while the DHT stops or slows the hair loss. Rogaine doesn't seem to do much for the hair loss itself so I think it's necessary to use a DHT blocker to preserve the hair that's already grown.

Here's a not-so-encouraging fact: this product pretty much requires an endless commitment. That means that whatever hair growth is generated by Rogaine is sustainable only through continued use of the product. (Stop using the product and the new hair goes away.) I... Read more

I've been using Rogaine for more than a decade and the foam is far (a million times) better than the original liquid. With the foam it is more like hair mousse -- unlike the liquid which is slathered on and leaves your head greasy looking (and feeling).

One thing though is that the foam is far more expensive, mainly because there is no generic version yet available. But for me the price is worth it. However, when I found this option on Amazon I leaped at it -- I'm saving nearly $30 with every order.

In summary,
1) Rogaine works for me -- I've regrown and maintained much of the hair on the top of my head.
2) The foam is much better than the liquid -- goes on like hair mousse and isn't messy or greasy
3) Ordering from Amazon saves me $30 when I order 3 month supply.

I used the Rogaine foam faithfully/consistently for 7 months, but I did not see much difference at all. It must be my bad luck to be in the 15% of the population for which this product does not work. That being said, if you're going to try it, here are some things to keep in mind (which other reviewers have noted, as well):

1. You have to apply the stuff twice a day for the rest of your life, or at least as long as you want to try to thicken your hair. Although it's not the worst discipline, I grew weary of having to do it. Too much trouble, I found.

2. It's expensive.

3. As others have said, it works best just to spray it directly on the crown of the head.

4. I don't think the odor is bad. It dissipates after a few minutes, anyway.

5. Definitely use the foam, not the liquid solution. The liquid solution is horribly messy.

Hope you have better luck than I did.

I have hypoactive thyroid, which means my hair thins. About 2 years ago, I was talking to my doctor about what seemed to be a drastic hair loss. My medication did need to be adjusted, but she also suggested I try a new shampoo/conditioner to help with hair loss, and she wrote down "Nioxin." I was desperate, so I decided to give the product a try.

To be frank, I'm not bowled over by the scent. It has a somewhat medicinal smell, which can take some time to get used to. There is also a bit of a tingle when using the Scalp Therapy that might be a little unnerving at first.

However! I noticed within the first month of use (and I wash my hair 2 - 3 times a week), I had less hair in the shower comb, and less hair showing up on the bathroom counter. Also, since becoming hypoactive, I've become a "shedder" - with hair literally falling out as I stand talking to people. This had started to decrease.

I have used Nioxin for years and it saved my hair from ruin. To save money from the outrageously expensive price tag in the salons, I bought this product on Amazon for less than half the retail price.

I used it and immediately I noticed that the strength was weak. The signature strong tingle usually imparted by Nioxin was mild and my hair just didn't seem to look and feel as nice. I didnt experience anything harmful but I strongly suspected that the product I received from the seller was inferior, old or was a generic version.

Since I spent the money already, I used up the product until the bottles were empty. I then went ahead and purchased 2 bottles of the same thing at my salon when they were running a 2 for $50 special. I have to tell you the actual salon formula was visually different. For example the scalp therapy conditioner from the salon had a shimmery consistency not opaque like the product I purchased from Amazon.

I purchased this after my hair began falling out everywhere - AND breaking off. It was either from a bad straightener (definitely do a strand test before hand) or from weight loss surgery. Either way I would see dozens of strands hanging from the bottom of my hair. It took over a month before I finally saw results. I was on my second set of the Nioxin before it worked.

It is pricey but you are better off getting the larger sizes as the smaller set runs out very quick. It doesn't foam or get sudsy but it does feel as if your scalp is on minty fire. My scalp actually hurt and throbbed the first time I used it for a couple of hours afterwards. It's like listerine for you scalp. The System 3 actually looks like a blue gel version of Listerine. Also, I would sometimes have to use an additional conditioner because Nioxin did seem to leave my hair feeling tangled and dry but a relative who used it (and said it stopped her hair loss too) did not have the tangled hair I did.
